An Afternoon Picnic

When Tina wrote A Day Closer, we felt a particular joy hearing about how her husband's positive attitude inspires Tina as well as the men with whom he currently resides. What also captured us is Tina's kindness and love for others in her position of having a loved one incarcerated. Tina often takes other women with her who cannot afford the gas to get to the facility. Tina states, "I know how important these visits are to not only us ladies but also the men we visit." Something Tina and her husband like to do during visits is set up the food they get from the vending machines like they are on an afternoon picnic.

A Day Closer is so happy to have been able to assist in Tina and Thomas's visit. We appreciate greatly the way this husband and wife care for and impact others, including us at A Day Closer.

"Time with my husband, Tommy, means the world to both of us. It helps give us a break from the mundane and rejuvenates us.

The visits are what Tommy looks forward to the most. He spends time looking into my eyes and holding my hand. We call getting food out of the vending machine a 'picnic'.

I can't tell you exactly how he does it, but while the worlds around us seem to drain us, our time together gives us the strength to go through this together.

Thank you again for your help in making this happen. God Bless you!"
